Kawaii Kitchen... Eggs

Juz wanna share some cooking tips wif all of u… in a way add some educational value to my blog… oso hope u ppl can learn some useful things… while reading the rest of the nonsense on my blog…

Today’s 1st lesson is on EGGS… a beri common n yummy ingredient in our everyday diet… I personally loves it… But u ppl muz be thinking… aiyo… cook eggs so simple… but hor… tell u something… the real test of a person’s culinary skills lies in the handling of SIMPLE ingredients…

Firstly, let’s tok abt scrambled eggs… yummy… I am drooling oredi… u know the secret to making delicious scrambled eggs wif a smooth wet texture… it’s… WATER ! When u are beating up the eggs in a bowl, add water to the mixture… juz about one small teaspoon of water for every one egg used… so depending on how many eggs u using, add equal number teaspoons of water… get it? Add some light soya sauce as well for seasoning (amount up to ur own preference, personally I like it saltier)… Mix well b4 pan-frying…

Next on the menu… steamed egg… similar to wat the jap calls chawanmushi… a lot of ppl found their steamed egg full of “crater holes” when they tried to make the dish themselves… looks ugly… spoil appetite… haha… the secret to making smooth (both looking n tasting) n beautiful steamed egg? Simple… when steaming the egg, place a chopstick between the lid n the wok (I use a Chinese wok for steaming) so there’s a small gap in-between… tis allows excess steam(water vapour) to seep thru’… The result of such a simple move? Wonderful smooth steamed egg tat looks like tofu…
